Peter Boyle
Born: Oct 18, 1935
Peter Boyle was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Before deciding to pursue a career in acting, he was a monk in the Christian Brothers order. His wife Loraine was a reporter for Rolling Stone Magazine when they first met, he was in his full make-up for Young Frankenstein. Through her friendship with Yoko Ono, Peter met and became best friends with ex-Beatle John Lennon. His many feature film credits include "The Candidate," "Young Frankenstein," "Taxi Driver," "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure," "The Santa Clause," "Joe," "While You Were Sleeping" and "Dr. Doolittle." Among his television credits are the mini-series "Echoes in the Darkness," on the CBS Television Network, and the films "Guts and Glory: The Rise and Fall of Oliver North," "The Tragedy of Flight 103: The Inside Story" and "In the Lake of the Woods." Boyle received the 1996 Emmy Award for "Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series" for an appearance in an episode of "The X-Files." In 1999, he received an Emmy Award nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series" for Everybody Loves Raymond.
